I have this practical class in which i am required to make teeth by carving them out of wax. We were to carve them and hand them in once we get the approval from the lecturer in charge.
In the previous class, we were told by the postgraduate in charge to get our work done by the next class or we wont be given any attendance. To prove that we had done our work, we would have to get signature of approval from the lecturer.
So anyway, the "next" class finally came. The postgraduate asked if we have finished our work, we (my group) said yes, but we haven't gotten the signature from the lecturer yet because, well, he wasn't around yet. So the postgraduate(PG) , told us we will still be marked absent until the lecturer gives us his signature of approval.
Another PG who was in the room then said that the lecturer wont be coming in today. So we looked at the 1st PG with a "so what now" kind of look on our face. He replied sternly, "Its not my problem, its your responsibility."
*gasp* ......shocking ain't it.
So we argued, (well, by we i meant the other students, i couldn't be bothered really) , how are we suppose to get his signature if he doesn't come to class.
We should have gotten his signature earlier in the day ( this class was the last class for the day and it was in the afternoon).
Yes, your absolutely right, he expects us to drop everything else we are doing and come to get the signature because "this is the center of the universe and all life revolves around this subject".
Then the other PG said something else. She said that the lecturer didn't even come to college today.
Wanna guess what the 1st PG said to that?
"I dont care, its still their responsibility to get the signature by today itself and since they can't do it, no attendance for them all!"
The way he said it was in a tone like, " we dont negotiate with terrorists" kinda of tone.
So everybody in the room was like "WTF", even the other PG. So then everybody once again pleaded/argued with him, even the other PG sided with us, i mean.....come on....who wouldn't .
Then I think after a while, it finally sunk into him. He realized what we were telling him. Out of embarrassment or just to stop the conversation, he got up and went out of the class.
We got our attendance in the end at the end of the class. =)
